Indulge in Salzburger Nockerl, a fluffy soufflé-like dessert that is a specialty of Salzburg, Austria. This sweet treat, named after the city's hills (the Nockerl), is made from egg whites, sugar, and vanilla, baked to a golden peak and dusted with powdered sugar. Traditionally served in portions shaped like three hills, it's best enjoyed at a traditional Austrian restaurant like St. Peter Stiftskulinarium, one of the oldest restaurants in Central Europe, or at Café Tomaselli, a historic coffeehouse where Mozart once sipped his coffee. Pair it with a glass of Austrian wine or a cup of melange for a truly local experience.
