Visit Mindelo

Sail trade-wind islands, volcanic ridges, and morna music of Cape Verde

Long white beaches and salt flats.

Climb the islands' active volcano.

Dramatic green ridges and valleys.

First European colonial town in the tropics, UNESCO-listed.

Salt pans inside an extinct volcano on Sal, where the water is so dense you float as in the Dead Sea.

Visit Praia, the capital city of Cape Verde on Santiago Island. Explore the historic Plateau district (the city's old center with colonial buildings and the Presidential Palace), relax at Quebra Canela beach (a popular urban beach with calm waters), and experience the local culture at Sucupira Market (a bustling market selling everything from fresh produce to crafts).
